Con la difusi\u00f3n de los arrays de sensores, se desarrollaron muchos estudios sobre t\u00e9cnicas de s\u00edntesis de patrones para mejorar su rendimiento. En primer lugar, estas t\u00e9cnicas se basaban en la variaci\u00f3n de las excitaciones de los sensores (amplitud y fase), manteniendo los sensores uniformemente distribuidos. A continuaci\u00f3n, se desarrollaron t\u00e9cnicas basadas en la variaci\u00f3n de las posiciones de los sensores, ya sea siguiendo ciertas reglas (arrays aperi\u00f3dicos) o de forma aleatoria, con excitaciones uniformes, y despu\u00e9s surgieron algoritmos que optimizan simult\u00e1neamente las excitaciones y las posiciones de los sensores.<br><br>Los micr\u00f3fonos digitales basados en tecnolog\u00eda MEMS (<em>Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems<\/em>) incluyen un micr\u00f3fono, un acondicionador de se\u00f1al y un dispositivo de adquisici\u00f3n incorporado en el propio chip.
