Prof. Alberto Izquierdo Fuente has carried out a training stay in the ETRO group of the Department of Industrial Sciences (INDI) of the Free University of Brussels (VUB) (Belgium). He has worked with Prof. Abdellah Touhafi in the area of acoustic arrays with reconfigurable FPGA based embedded systems.

New 3D positioner system for building Virtual Arrays
In collaboration with UBU, a 3D positioning system has been designed that will allow the 8×8 SAM array to be moved with millimeter precision. With this new tool it will be possible to build virtual arrays of thousands of sensors with angular resolutions of tenths of a degree.
